Dekton Qualities

UV Resistant

The Dekton manufacturing process uses controlled pigmentation and decoration, providing color consistency on each slab. The result is a long lasting product that is highly resistant to UV light, so it will not fade or degrade over time. This makes Dekton perfect for indoor, as well as outdoor applications.

Scratch Resistant

Dekton is the one of the most scratch resistant surfaces on the market,making it the ideal surface for heavy traffic areas.Although the slip of a knife won’t damage the surface, it is highly recommended that you use cutting boards to prevent your knives and utensils from becoming dull.

Stain Resistant

Dekton has an extremely low porosity and contains no resin, making it extraordinarily stain resistant. Even usually tough stains like wine, coffee, and ink are easily removed from the surface. Dekton is also chemical resistant. Household chemicals like bleach, drain cleaners or oven degreasers won’t even harm your Dekton surface.

Heat Resistant

Although we never recommend placing hot pots or pans directly on your countertop surface, Dekton is able to withstand those high temperatures without burning, scorching or cracking. You’ll never have to worry about your Crock Pots degrading the quality of your surface.

Hydrolysis Resistant

Hydrolysis is a chemical reaction involving the breaking of a bond in a molecule using water. Dekton is highly resistant to hydrolysis. This means your surface will not be damaged if you forget to use a coaster or clean up a spill.

Thermal Shock Resistant

Dekton’s low thermal expansion rate makes it noncombustible and resistant to both extreme heat, as well as extreme cold. It’s natural resistance to ice and thawing makes it perfect for use in even the coldest environments.

Flexural Strength

Dekton is over five times the flexural strength of granite. This incredible feature allows Dekton to be able to be thinner, span greater lengths, and allows for up to a 12-inch unsupported overhang on countertops, islands and bars. Dekton’s high compressive strength also makes it an ideal material for walkways or even driveways.

Non-Porous

Dekton is a non-porous material, so it never needs to be sealed. Once installed, the maintenance is easy. It naturally prevents liquids and gases from penetrating the surface and it’s so easy to clean.
