FYI’s original series “Tiny House Nation,” which celebrates the exploding trend of extreme downsizing across the country, airs all-new episodes on Saturday’s at 9pm ET/PT. “Tiny House Nation” was the first of its kind in the tiny living genre, and continues to rank as the network’s #1 rated program in the home space.
The series follows host John Weisbarth and renovation expert Zack Giffin as they travel across America showing off ingenious small spaces and the inventive people who live in them. Along the way, they help families design and construct their own mini dream homes, each no larger than 500 square feet.
No matter how daunting a job may appear, from the very start of each building process, John and Zack will prove to new tiny home owners that they don’t necessarily need the amount of space they initially thought they couldn’t live without. Micro-living does not mean giving up luxury it means gaining financial independence and simplifying life in more ways than one.
In the season premier, parents Darren and Melody want to show their kids that life is about experiences, not belongings. But when they put their house on the market they never thought their first tiny experience would be temporarily moving their family of six into an old RV. Now Darren and Melody are concerned the idea living tiny might not work for their family, so they’ve asked John and Zack to help them create the perfect two trailer tiny house that offers privacy, activity, and a space for their young girls to learn. Their biggest challenge however, will be making sure their 14-year-old son Carter has a space he doesn’t mind sharing with his three energetic younger sisters.
